Most of the world meets the web on a phone, often on a slow connection. So I don't design for a big screen and shrink it down — I start with the phone and build up. That means lean code, fast loading, and layouts that feel natural in one hand. When the smallest, slowest experience is excellent, every other device is too. It isn't a trend; it's how the web actually gets used, especially across Africa and the wider world where I build from. Mobile-first is the difference between a site that looks fine in a demo and one that works for real people.
